Protecting Your Business Investment

I live in a small town. Every weekend, I visit the same local retail establishments in order to complete shopping errands. I’m always saddened when I hear about a favorite local retailer incurring damage from a theft. I know many small business owners. They are hard-working people who have invested much of their time and finances into their businesses. For them, losing merchandise from a theft may lead to financial ruin. If you are a small business owner, consider purchasing a state-of-the-art security system in order to protect your business assets. On this blog, you will discover the best types of security systems to install in small businesses.

Do's and Don'ts for Your New Home's Security

Blog

When you move in a new home, you want to make sure you are going to be safe and secure in that home. Any home can fall victim to criminals, so securing your home should be a top priority. This article will go over some do's and don'ts of home security to help you get all set up in your new place.

Don'ts

Don't leave your blinds wide open for people to peek in while you are in the process of moving in and still staying at your other home.

Don't leave the door unlocked while you are going to get another load in your moving truck. This leaves you wide open for being robbed before you even get situated in your new place.

Don't leave the spare key in a spot where criminals have learned to look for them. These places include under the door mat, under flower pots, and under rocks.

Don't leave the house all dark when you are gone on vacation or even for the night. Leaving a radio or TV on can take care of this and scare away potential intruders when they think someone just may be inside the house.

Don't announce on your social media page or on any other page on the Internet when you are not going to be at home. This includes not stating your work hours or other things about your schedule. Doing so will give criminals your schedule so they know when would be the best time to get into your house.

Do's

Do have a locksmith come out to your new home first thing so they can take a look at all of the locks on your doors and windows to make sure they are good quality locks and in good condition. If any of the locks aren't up to their standard then they will be able to replace them for you.

Do consider having a fence installed if the house doesn't already have one. The fence will give your home one more added level of protection against possible intruders.

Do have a good security system installed that you will be able to count on to properly secure your new place. The security system needs to fully monitor your house. It should have cameras that provide you with clear video, and the system should offer you remote access so it can be monitored and controlled from anywhere.
